While growing up in Thunderbolt, Georgia, a small shrimping village near Savannah, Rocky Ball could never decide... art or music? Music or art? In the end he decided to do both. He attended Georgia Southern University and Georgia State University where he studied Commercial Art by day and played piano and banjo professionally by night in a New Orleans jazz band called Raz'Mataz.

For 14 years Rocky, and his wife, Becky, were both performers and partners in RMT Productions, a company that managed talent and created musical content for amusement parks all over the country. Eventually Rocky accepted the position of Director of Live Entertainment at the Kennywood Park Corporation.

As a musician he has played for mayors, governors and even a couple of Presidents. He's played at a Super Bowl and a World Series and for nearly every major corporation and professional sports franchise in the Southeast.

As an illustrator and graphic designer, Rocky has created untold numbers of brochures, logos, web pages and too many tee shirt designs to count.

As a 4-string banjo player, Rocky has taught workshops at banjo conferences and contributed articles on banjo playing and music theory to trade periodicals of the banjo and New Orleans Jazz communities around the country.

Rocky also has a keen interest in songwriting and is a member of ASCAP. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Music Industry Association (GMIA - formerly the Atlanta Songwriters Association) and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra.

Rocky is also a managing partner and co-owner of the Ruby Red's Band, the oldest continually operating jazz band in Georgia, specializing in New Orleans Jazz, Gut Bucket Blues, and Mojo Singin' Music! Most recently Rocky has formed 3 'virtual' groups: B@LL L@BS, BALL BEARING and PLAYBALL to showcase his original compositions and recordings via digital distribution.

Rocky and Becky are enthusiastic fans of NASCAR, camping, all kinds of music, University of Georgia and SEC football, movies, and their 3 sons - Andy, Zane and John-Henry. Both Rocky and Becky are active in their church and their commmunity near their home in Snellville, Georgia.

Rocky and Becky continued to audition, hire and train talent, write shows, design sets and costumes and lock themselves away in recording studios for months at a time each year to develop entertainment for Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh and Idlewild Park in Ligonier, Pennsylvania.

In 1992 Rocky opened a nightclub and restaurant in Underground Atlanta, Fanny Moon's Beer Hall & Opera House, where he served for 4 years as co-owner, chef, bottle washer, toilet technician and banjoist in the house band.

In 1998 Rocky decided to put his art background to use and formed ArtWorks Graphics, a freelance illustration and web design studio catering to small businesses.
